' I have found that books can carry children to another location.' Judith has actually been volunteering as a bedside reader at Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust given that 2003. After retiring from mentor, Judith desired to continue to use her storytelling skills to assist children who are poorly. 'I had actually always delighted in checking out to the children in school at the end of the day. You might see them noticeably unwind and be taken in by the story. I thought this might also apply to kids in health center. I offer on the kids's oncology wards in the health center. Mark joined the NHS in his 30s after leaving his family's business with no official certifications, but a drive to make a distinction. He began as a mental health assistance worker and went on to train as a general nurse. He qualified at 37 and invested the next 20 years steadily climbing up the ladder. ' I tried to turn off a bedside lamp and felt like something wasn't right with me. I understood quickly it was a stroke.' In July 2023, after an active holiday kayaking and walking, Bob suddenly had a stroke. He was zipped air ambulance to University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he invested four weeks restoring. 'I utilized the fitness center regularly and did neurorehabilitation online (NROL)'. NROL is a group rehab program for people who have actually had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. 'I had a structured timetable which offered me something to look forward to every week - socially, emotionally and mentally.' Bob thanked NHS staff for 'the wonderful support' and the ongoing physiotherapy he got. Well done Bob and great work group! Early acknowledgment of stroke signs can save lives. ' Working along with nurses and seeing the difference they made inspired me to think, 'I might do that!" Meet Sharon, a sexual health nurse and non-medical prescriber who started her nursing journey in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital. In 2010 she joined Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and continues to serve clients in Hertfordshire. 'I enjoyed assisting people and learning more about the body, so nursing just felt right.' Sharon shows. Sharon has actually worked in male infertility, menopause, miscarriage and colposcopy to name a few, showing the vast array of locations in which nurses make a distinction. 'Truly, I can't consider an area where nurses don't make an impact in some kind,' Sharon confesses. On why her function is special, Sharon discusses, 'The care, kindness, and empathy we bring make the nursing role unique. As client advocates, we help ensure their journey is supported, notified, and truly significant.' There are more than 50 different types of nursing functions offered in the NHS.
