The Middle East is an area where automobile is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.

But this year, as protests across the Middle East have pushed up the rate of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one service is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving rewarding too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
